Nothing beats doing something fun for a cause! Mental health and substance use issues are affecting someone in every family, someone you know, someone you love, and someone you care about.
This year on May 3, the Global Mental Health Young Professionals Board hosted their second annual fundraiser at Gotham Comedy Club. Last year their fundraising efforts raised over $10,000 and successfully funded seed grants for two Global Mental Health scholars – Elson Asevedo, MD in Brazil, and Goodman Sibeko, MD in South Africa. This year they contributed to funding the research of a third Global Mental Health Scholar. These scholars are amazing, distinguished researchers who are committed to improving lives and the funds raised will allow them to expand their research on a global platform and advance the way they are able to conduct studies. Ultimately, it’s all about helping people.
A heartfelt thanks to our Young Professionals Board for organizing a seamless and entertaining evening.
