Harkness Fellowships in Health Care Policy and Practice Collaboration
About The Program
The Harkness Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for mid-career health services researchers and practitioners from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, and the United Kingdom to spend up to 12 months in the United States, conducting original research and working with leading U.S. health policy experts on critical issues on the policy agenda in both the U.S. and their home countries. These experts serve as mentors to the fellows and help refine their research project, provide technical expertise, facilitate access to data and colleagues, and advise on dissemination strategies.
Collaboration Aims
Dr. Pincus has been hosting and mentoring multiple Harkness Fellows from various countries (UK, France, the Netherlands) throughout the last several years, helping them to gain a firsthand understanding of the U.S. health care system and innovations behavioral health policy and practice. These mentor – mentee relationships provide an excellent opportunity for developing future collaboration on cross-country research as demonstrated by multiple joint publications in peer-reviewed articles.
