Reina Marin, PhD

Dr. Reina Marin is a clinical psychologist in private practice in New York City. Her work involves consultation, evaluation, and psychotherapy with children, adolescents, families, and adults. She has been in full-time private practice for over 30 years. Reina has also been a visiting faculty member in the Applied Psychology and Human Development Program of the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. There she taught classes in psychodynamic psychotherapy and supervised graduate students in their clinical internships.

Reina has served on several boards including the Board of the Graduate School of Education and the Board of the Kelly Writers House, where she is the current co-chair, at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a member of the Trustees Council of Penn Women of the University of Pennsylvania where she was the co-chair of the Faculty Gender Equity Committee. She also served on the Board of Trustees of the Dalton School and chaired the Trustees Committee on Admissions and Scholarships.

Reina has a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research. She is married to Emilio Bassini who is from Guatemala and together they have lived in Mexico City where Reina worked in a residential psychiatric treatment center. They have three children and two grandchildren.
