Global Practica Student Wins First Prize at Columbia Global Health Practicum Poster Session

Columbia-WHO Center for Global Mental Health 2019 Global Practicum student Anya Peck won first prize at Columbia’s Global Health Practicum Poster Session for her poster on a suicide prevention social media campaign that she designed during her practicum in Santiago, Chile.

Through the Global Practica program, Anya worked with Chile’s research center to Improve Mental Health of Adolescents and Youths (IMHAY). In addition to completing this suicide prevention social media campaign, Anya completed analysis of post-implementation data from a study testing a mobile app-based mental health support called ‘Cuida tu Ánimo’ for adolescents. This analysis and other research methods will be used as the base for the app to target college students’ mental health.

Anya was also featured in an article by the Global Centers at Columbia University, which can be found here.

Congratulations, Anya!
