Richard Brockman, MD

Richard Brockman is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Attending Clinical Psychiatrist at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He is also a Visiting Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Namibia School of Medicine in Windhoek, Namibia. Since 2016, Dr. Brockman has been teaching and helping to develop the medical student undergraduate program in psychiatry at the University of Namibia’s medical school, which graduated its first class in 2016. He also teaches post graduate medical education programs in Windhoek, Namibia and leads the collaboration between the Columbia Department of Psychiatry and the University of Namibia’s School of Medicine. Dr. Brockman actively collaborates on research related to stigma and HIV and school-based mental health programming in Namibia.
