Speaker: Liat Helpman, PhD
Dr. Helpman trained as a psychologist with expertise in clinical practice with adults and children who have experienced traumatic events and social and interpersonal problems. Her research focuses on investigating biomarkers associated with stress-and-trauma-related disorders and translating research into practical applications, and she is particularly interested in mechanisms of response to stress and trauma, as well as to treatment, that are specific to women. Dr. Helpman is a Global Mental Health Postdoctoral Fellow, working with the Columbia Trauma and PTSD program and the Global Mental Health program to improve access to evidence-based interventions for trauma-related disorders in low- and middle-income countries.
