The extraordinary crisis in Ukraine is just the latest calamity forcing children and their families from their homes, while confronting significant physical and emotional trauma. They face tremendous obstacles to a healthy and successful future, and many will be stuck in limbo for years. With significant disruptions in their education, social development, and healthcare, displaced children face face a bleak outlook for future opportunities. Join our esteemed panelists as they discuss the current situation, how additional conflict and more climate change will worsen the global displacement crisis, in “host” and “donor” countries, and the need to reimagine the approach taken towards refugees.

The Committee on Forced Migration is an initiative of the Columbia Global Centers, has focused on providing an institution-wide space to advance discourse, both internal and public, on forced migration-related inquiries and engagement. This webinar is part of a year-long series.
