Dr. Geoffrey Reed’s Provides Expertise on The Importance of the ICD-11 in Mental Health and the Law

Dr. Geoffrey Reed provided his expertise last night at the Mexican Association of Psychiatry’s program: “The Importance of the ICD-11 in Mental Health and the Law.”


Dr. Reed shared some important changes in ICD-11 that are of interest in the forensic mental health, including 1) the new diagnosis of complex PTSD; 2) the dimensional classification of personality disorders and psychotic disorders; 3) the reconceptualization of paraphilic disorders; 4) the movement of categories related to transgender identity into a new chapter on sexual health, so that transgender identity is no longer considered a mental disorder.
